I met Terry in high school. We were both on the Hamilton Taft wrestling team. Terry was heavyweight and I wrestled in the lightest weight class. Terry was a top notch person who will be dearly missed. So sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure of being a part of a team that Coach Merz was on staff. He was outstanding. Always had a big smile and encouraged us to do great things. A great Man! He will be missed. Stephen Napier

Coach Metz coached his player as hard as any coach, on any level I played. He also loved his players as much as any coach I've ever had. He kicked our butts everyday, opened his home up to his players, and turned kids into men, and produced too many 'Dawgs' to count. Like hundreds, if not thousands of people, I am a better person because I had Coach in life.

So sorry to hear of his passing. I knew him later in life and even with everything that he was going through he was always so positive and upbeat. Encouraging those around him and supporting us daily.

I met Terry and Kathy when they came to Talawanda. Terry came to be on the football staff . What a wonderful addition to that coaching staff. Terry was so great with the kids . He was the sweetest guy who always had a smile for everyone. What great times and memories we had back then. Please know that your family is in our hearts and prayers. Sending our love to all.
