Cecily S. Cornett passed away on June 30, 2020. She was born on November 20, 1998 in Hamilton the daughter of Julus (DeeDee) Cornett and the late Dusty Howell. She was a 2017 graduate of Preble Shawnee High School and was a scholar athlete and played softball and varsity cheer. After school she obtained her STNA license and loved working with the elderly patients. Cecily loved hunting, fishing, camping and being outdoors having bonfires with friends, geocaching, and catfishing all night. She was affectionately referred to as ‘Poppy’s lil tattoo” because she was always with her Poppy. Cecily was a beautiful soul that is going to be so missed by so many. A star has been named in Cecily’s honor in the Star Registry named “Cecily’s Cove”. ‘Forever burning bright, Forever where the fish bite, Forever illuminating the night.’ Cecily is survived by her loving adopted parents Julus and Marilyn Cornett; sister Kylee Cornett; her uncle James Cornett; niece Kaelynn Cornett; two nephews Waylon Cornett, and Carter Cornett. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory many aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and close friends. Private services will take place at the convenience of the family.
