Dorothy Jean “Dottie” Lewis age 91 of Moores Hill, Indiana and formerly of Hamilton, Ohio passed away Friday January 26, 2024. She was born October 25, 1932 in Holden, West Virginia and later attended Leatherwood High School of Leatherwood, Kentucky. Mrs. Lewis had a variety of jobs in her life, from being a school bus driver to a homemaker to becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was an expert cook that loved to prepare meals and bake for others. She loved crafts such as sewing, quilting, making Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, purses, and baby blankets. She also enjoyed riding and traveling cross-country on motorcycles with her husband and friends. She was involved in her church and also served for years as a Sunday school teacher. But above all, she simply enjoyed being a Mother and Grandmother and everything that entailed. Mrs. Lewis had a contagious spirit and was endeared to all who knew her. She is survived by her husband J.C. Lewis; four sons Steven (the late Diane) Cox, Hugh (Tina) Cox, Kenneth (Tara) Cox, and Samuel (Mary) Lewis; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Louise Thompson-Shekell and her brother Paul Thompson. Visitation at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield on Thursday February 1, 2024 from 1:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Joel Greer, officiating.
