Dorothy Reid was born on June 24, 1932 in Hamilton, the daughter of Shirley and Helen (Lairson) Snowden. On January 14, 1948 she married Wiley Reid. They were together for 63 years and were blessed with six children. Although she worked outside the home for a few years, Dorothy was mainly a homemaker and thoroughly enjoyed her role of wife, mother and grandmother. Dorothy had a beautiful singing voice and loved praising God in song. She was a member of Freedom Chapel where she served as Sunday School Superintendent and choir leader. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; five brothers Lee Snowden, Taylor Durbin, Jr., Wesley Durbin, Charles Henry Snowden, and Shirley Snowden, Jr.; two sisters Laverne Marshall and Deanna Henderson. She is survived by her sons, Douglas (Mary Ann) Reid of Union, KY, Norman (Theresa) Reid and Henry Reid of Hamilton; daughters Kathleen (Robert) Paxton, Patricia (Doug) Murphy and Carol Reid, all of Hamilton; three brothers Lonnie Durbin, Johnny Durbin, and Herbert Durbin; five sisters Phyllis Gabbard, Darlene Jordan, Marlene Lykins, Nancy Tipton and Helen Durbin; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all these loved ones. Visitation at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday January 24, 2019. The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Friday January 25, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor Walt Philpot officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
