Douglas Gentry

Douglas Gentry age 67 of Hamilton passed away on Friday January 20, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on July 5, 1955 in Hamilton the son of the late Earl and Louise (nee Owens) Gentry. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1974. Doug retired from CSX Railroad after 38 years of service. Doug was a member of the Pater Worship Center. He is survived by his loving wife of over 39 years Joy (nee Chasteen) Gentry; two daughters Stephanie (William) Barr and Dawn (Jeff) Hamblin; nine grandchildren Candace (Robert) Fugate, Justin (Amanda) Hamblin, John (Sammi) Hamblin, Jeffrey Hamblin Jr, Taylor (Tyler) Luppert, Alyssa Smith, Josh Smith Jr, Billy Barr, and Bryan (Mary) Barr; eight great grandchildren Harley, Eleanor, Delilah, Amaya, Addy, Jacob, Phoebe, and Landon; five siblings James (Teri) Gentry, Mary (the late James) Wicke, Art Gentry, Ray (Judy) Gentry, and Donnie (Kim) Gentry; five in laws Buddy George, Beverly (Jeff) Johnson, Kenny (Alta) Chasteen, Bobby (the late Carolyn) Chasteen, and Carol Chasteen. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other family, and close friends. Doug was also preceded in death by three siblings Shirley George, Ronnie Gentry, and Greg Gentry his parents in law Robert and Christine Chasteen; two brothers in law Darrell Chasteen and Ralph Chasteen; one son in law Josh Smith. Visitation will be on Wednesday January 25, 2023 at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield from 5:00PM-8:00PM. The funeral will be on Thursday January 26, 2023 at the funeral home at 11:00AM with Pastor Darryl McCoy officiating. Burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
