Ernest L. Brannon age 74 of Hamilton went home to be with the Lord on Monday June 15, 2020 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born September 30, 1945 in Hamilton, Ohio the son of the late Walter “Duke” and Betty (nee Johnson) Brannon Willard. Ernie as he liked to be called was born in Hamilton but grew up in Somerville. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He worked at Champion International and Dayco of Ocala. He was a member of the Monkey Mutual Aid Society, and a member of the Hamilton AMVETS. He was inducted into the Butler County Softball Hall of Fame and pitched for Ron’s Car Wash, Champion Paper Roll Storage as well as many other softball teams. In Florida he played softball for Dowling and Trinity Baptist Church. Ernie enjoyed golf, camping, traveling, and anything to do with spending time with family, especially his three grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Linda Brannon; three children Teresa (William) Brossett, Viola Brannon, and Kevin (Lisa) Brannon; three grandchildren Heather, Hannah, and Holden; one brother Walter William Brannon; two sisters Rebecca (Donald) Beckett and Ruthann (Rodney) Iams; sisters in law Imogene (the late David) McNabb and Lill (the late William) Wyatt, and brothers in law Murphy Edwards and Timothy (Debra) Wyatt. He was also preceded in death by his father Walter “Duke” Brannon, his mother Betty (Johnson) Brannon Willard; stepfather Robert Willard; and his brother Robert Willard Jr. Visitation will be on Saturday June 27, 2020 at Christ Church 50 Augspurger rd Hamilton 45011 from 12:00PM until the time of the memorial service at 1:00PM.
