Faytina Mayrine Smith

Faytina Mayrine “May” Smith, age 92 of Hamilton passed away on Thursday October 18th, 2018 at approximately 3:15PM. She was born on July 17, 1926 in Fairston, KY the daughter of the late Lloyd and Julia (nee McFadden) Fields. On November 6th, 1945 she married Owen Lee Smith. Mayrine and Owen enjoyed summers fishing and gardening in Minnesota and at Lake Cumberland. Owen preceded her in death in 2006, and her son Randall Lee Smith in 2001. Mayrine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grand-grandmother. She was a member of New Liberty United Baptist Church. She loved singing hymns and did so regularly. Mayrine loved sewing, quilting, cooking, and was an avid shopper. Her quiet dedication to God, family, and friends will remain an inspiration to all who knew her. She is survived by one daughter Connie “Susie” McNamara Carson and her husband Mark; one daughter in law Shirley Smith-Estep; one sister in law Nadine Fields; eleven grandchildren Leesa, Kim, Shannon, Brooke, Valerie, Laura (Jeff), Christopher, Elizabeth, Tiffany, Grace, and Hannah; twenty four great grandchildren Haylee, Abbygail, Dejia, DeAundre, Ashlee, TaLiah, Emma, Logan, Skylar, Miryha, Jasmine, Breeanna, Meghan, Ashley, Gabriella, Sophia, Peyten, Lilly, Zaiden, Alivia, Evie, Ben, Graham, and Thomas. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was also preceded in death by five brothers Charles Fields, Raymond Fields, Estill Fields, Mahlon Fields, and John Fields; one sister Amanda (Pete) Hundley; three brothers in law D.C. Smith, Paul Rush, and Oscar Byrd; and three sisters in law Helen Byrd, Vera Smith and Betty Rush. Visitation will be on Sunday October 21, 2018 at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield from 2:00PM- 5:00PM. The funeral will be on Monday October 22, 2018 at 11:00AM at the funeral home with Chaplain Davon Huss officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. www.websterfuneralhomes.com
