Jean L. Weickert age 78 of Fairfield passed away Wednesday March 18, 2020 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 2, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of the late James and Loretta (nee Schwab) Dolan. Jean was a long time member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Cincinnati and also a member of St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Northport, Michigan. She was a devoted follower of Saint Padre Pio and sought his spiritual advice by mailing him a letter while he was still living. Padre Pio wrote her back and asked her to have complete trust in the Goodness of God and said that he would pray for her intentions. Marriage Encounter was an integral part in strengthening and evolving Jim and Jean's 58 year marriage. Jean loved her family and enjoyed playing cards and beating everyone at whatever game was played. She was an avid sportswoman who enjoyed tennis, sailing, boating, salmon fishing, and even jet skiing into her 70’s. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who dearly loved her family time. She is the beloved wife of Dr. James Weickert; devoted mother of John Weickert, Bob (Michelle) Weickert, Eric (Carmen) Weickert, Renee (Mike) O’Malley, and Lisa (Andy) Gruber; loving grandmother of David (Danielle), Amanda, Trent, Kristen, and Tommy Weickert, Maria (Tim) Ducker, E. J., Ana Cristina, Anthony, Teresa, and the late Joey Weickert, Megan, T. J., and Jack O’Malley, Jake, Noah, Peter, and the late Dominic Gruber; great grandmother of Lucy and Gus; and dear sister of her identical twin Joan (Terry) Geisen, Ron (Janie) Dolan, Jack Dolan, Bill (Nancy) Dolan, the late Mike (Phyllis) Dolan, and the late Kathy (the late Dan) Ashcraft. A Mass of Christian Burial for Jean will be conducted at St. John Neumann Church, Cincinnati at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested a donation in Jean Weickert's name to their parish, St Gertrude's in Northport, MI. This donation will be directed to a charity that she was very passionate about which helps finance small businesses in underserved communities (more information can be found at http://kiva.org) Donations should be mailed to St. Gertrude's, P.O.
