Jim Bill Lewellyn, age 90 of Hamilton, Ohio passed away on March 10, 2023. Jim was born in Elcomb, Kentucky on July 18, 1932 to the late Harrison and Hazel (nee Reynolds) Lewellyn. On February 13, 1951, he married the love of his life, Betty Lou Hatfield in St.Charles, Virginia where they began a wonderful long journey together of almost 72 years. Jim was a proud Veteran, he was a member of the US Army from 1949 to 1953 where he achieved the rank of Sergeant and served in combat during the Korean War. Jim retired from the City of Hamilton in 1983 where he was the Supervisor of Construction Services. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1069 and a member of numerous community and professional organizations, serving on many boards as president. He was a hard worker his entire life and even though he retired young from the city he never stopped working and was quite an accomplished businessman. Jim was an amazing husband, father and grandfather that loved spending time with his family, he especially enjoyed the family Friday lunch outings. He was the biggest fan of his grandchildren and would attend as many sporting events, plays, concerts and any other activity that they participated in. Jim loved to travel with family and friends. He was a huge Kentucky Wildcat basketball fan and attended as many games as he could, including SEC tournaments and NCAA tournaments games, he enjoyed traveling by tour bus with the Cat Trackers. There were not many days that you would see him without wearing a Kentucky shirt, jacket or hat. Jim is survived by his two children James Lewellyn and Lucinda (Robert) Schappacher; six grandchildren Danielle Lewellyn, Heather Lewellyn, Brittani (Nick) Shope, Travis (Sarah) Stapleton, Ashley Schappacher and Emili Schappacher and one great grandchild Maveric Shope. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Betty on December 12, 2022, his daughter-in-law Lynn Lewellyn and parents. Visitation at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield on Thursday March 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM, with Rev. Edwin Beck, officiating. Burial to follow with full military honors in Rose Hill Burial Park. The family encourages those in attendance to wear their Kentucky apparel or Blue and White to honor Jim's passion for the Kentucky Wildcats Basketball team. They will host a Celebration of Life Luncheon for Jim & Betty at the conclusion of the graveside service at the Fairfield Community Arts Center, 411 Wessel Dr. in Fairfield. www.websterfuneralhomes.com
