John R. Young, Jr

John R. Young Jr. passed away at UC Health West Chester Hospital on Thursday, September 19, 2024.
John was born in Illinois on August 20, 1960, to John and Patricia (Bryant) Young. After a short stay in Illinois then a few years back in their home state of West Virgina, the family moved to West Chester, OH where John spent his life.
John grew up hunting and had a love of cars. After graduating from D. Russell Lee Technical Vocational School and Ohio Technical College, John began working as a mechanic and was employed by several garages in the West Chester area. John enjoyed deer hunting at the family cabin in West Virginia and was skilled in archery, learning how to hand make long bows and arrows. John competed and won many archery competitions in the Ohio/Indiana area.
John was predeceased by his parents John Sr and Patricia and his brother Edward. John leaves behind his brother, Jay H Young (wife Martha of Winchendon, MA) and sister-in-law Marsha Young (wife of late Edward P Young of Buford, GA). He also leaves behind his nieces Natalia Guffenberg (husband Tom, Deltona, FL), Danielle Stevens (husband Jim, Oakham, MA), Erin Young (Hoschton, GA) and Emma Young (Buford, GA) and nephew Joseph Young (Hoschton, GA). John also leaves behind Brad Jackson, a brother, close friend and neighbor whose support for the Young family is unwavering.
John is also survived by Aunt Jane Bowling (Russell), Uncle Gene Young (Marianne) and several extended family members. He is predeceased by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
John’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at UC Health West Chester Hospital and most especially to those that cared for him the last few years at Heritage Springs. The dedication everyone has shown to our family over the years can never be adequately expressed except to say THANK YOU!
