Karen Rae (Wilburn) Smiddy, 77, of Hamilton, Ohio died at 8:08 p.m. on June 7, 2024 at
Kettering Hospital, Kettering, Ohio.
Karen was born March 18, 1947 in Mounds City, Illinois, daughter to John Maxwell and Glena
Wilburn.

Karen grew up and attended school in Mounds City, Illinois. She was blessed with one daughter,
Michelle (Wilburn-Dentino) Warner of Fayetteville, Ohio. They resided in Springfield, Illinois
through the early 90’s. She moved to Florida and then to Georgia before settling in Hamilton,
Ohio. She and Michael Smiddy were married February 28, 2004 in Jonesboro, Illinois.

Karen is survived by her loving spouse, daughter, and stepchildren Danielle (Jamie) Shepard of
Dexter, Missouri and Chris Smiddy of Cobden, Illinois; three sisters; Patty Schmarje of Jackson,
Missouri, Shirley Black of St. Louis, Missouri, Donna Holman of East Cape Girardeau, Illinois;
and step granddaughter Amaya Shepard of Dexter, Missouri.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Linda Stevens, and four brothers, Troy,
Harold, Barry, and Michael Wilburn.
She was devoted to her family and will be sadly missed by all who had the opportunity to be a
part of her life.

As Karen's wishes, no memorial service will be held at this time.
