Lois Jean (Dahms) Long passed away on Monday July 15, 2024 in Matthews, North Carolina. She was born on September 12, 1931 the daughter of Randall and Clara (Isaacs) Dahms. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1949. On August 25, 1951 Jean and Harold Dale Long of Charleston, West Virginia were married in the Hamilton First Church of God. They have one daughter Michele Leigh, born July 30, 1967. Jean was a lifetime member of First Church of God, having been taken there by her parents at two weeks old. She served as organist and pianist for many years and played for numerous weddings and funerals. She attended there until 2010 when she and Harold moved to North Carolina to be near their daughter and her family. Her two grandsons were the light of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold on April 13, 2015; her parents Randall and Clara Dahms, and her sister Betty Waugh of Sarasota, Florida. She is survived by her daughter Michele and son-in-law Rick Hurni; grandsons Banner and Braden of Matthews, NC; nephews David (Linda) Waugh; Dale (Risa) Waugh, niece Debbie (Mike) Martin, and many cousins and friends. Visitation at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield on Thursday July 25, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Amy Arnold, officiating.
