Margaret Huber

Margaret Huber, age 89, passed away May 20, 2018. She was born May 30, 1928, the fourth of five children born to the late Charles and Emma (Foster) Huber. She is also preceded in death by her lifelong companion Louise Scheffer, brother, John (Elden) Huber, sisters Laura Huber, Betty Jean Huber and Phyllis Vanderpool. She is survived by nephews Gary Huber, Rick Huber, David Vanderpool, and Daniel Vanderpool; and nieces Beverly Huber, Roberta Kallay, and Rebecca Clausen; as well as grand and great-grand nephews and nieces. Margaret graduated from St. Bernard High School in 1946. She received an associate’s degree in 1969 and then a bachelor of Sciences Degree in Accounting in 1973 from the University of Cincinnati Evening College. She was the first recipient of a scholarship awarded by the Cincinnati Chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants to a University of Cincinnati Evening College student for the 1967-1968 academic year which was based on accumulated records of academic excellence. In 1970 she was inducted into Delta Mu Delta, the National Honor Society of business Students. Margaret was employed at several places before beginning her career of 29 years at the Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company in 1959. Margaret served as Assistant Secretary of the company from 1972 until she retired in 1989. Miss Huber enjoyed golf both before after her retirement. She was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, as well as college sports of all sorts. She spent most of her retirement years in Florida and was active with the Coastal Wildlife Club in Englewood Florida. She faithfully patrolled her assigned mile of beach along Manasota Key each morning during turtle season. A very special thank you from her family to the caregivers from Colonial at Home as well as Dr. Karnik and his staff who provided professional compassionate care. Visitation at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield on Friday May 25, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM, with Pastor John Johnson, officiating.
