Orvida J. Proffitt

Orvida J. Proffitt age 84 of Hamilton passed away at 10:18 AM Thursday April 16, 2020. She was born December 15, 1935 in Hamilton, Ohio the daughter of the late Rev. Thomas and Evelyn (nee Isaac) Arvin. She was a Christian woman and retired from Hawthorn Glen nursing center where she worked as a nursing assistant. She was married to Emmitt Proffitt and he preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Aaron (Casey) Payne, Darren (Tina) Payne, Mildred Payne, Kenneth (Dixie) Payne, James (Tonya) Payne, and Anneta (Bill) Grubbs; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her siblings James, Michael, Gary, and Ronnie. Mrs. Proffitt was also preceded in death by her son Joel (Roxanne) Payne Jr, great granddaughter Olivia Payne, great grandson Blazin Cunningham, and siblings Tommy, Harold, Kenneth, Darlene, Eva Jean, Ruth, and Pearl. The family wishes to thank Golden Years Nursing Center and Bella Care Hospice for their compassionate care of Mrs. Proffitt during her illness. Visitation will be at Greenwood Cemetery on Tuesday April 21, 2020 from 1:30-2:00PM with a graveside service starting at 2:00PM with Pastor Barry Wilson officiating.
