Obituary for Pastor Gerald R. Brees
Pastor Gerald R. Brees age 71 of Hamilton went home to be with His Lord on Saturday January 26, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on March 16, 1947 in Hamilton the son of the late Richard and Mildred (Clemmons) Brees. On April 22, 1966 he married Judy Dixon who became his lifelong partner in life. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a military police officer. He also worked as a truck driver, Cincinnati Police Officer, and finally a Baptist Pastor. After He and Judy both became “Born Again Christians” they attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. He then did home missions work by establishing churches in Wisconsin and Texas. They returned to the Hamilton area, and later began attending Lindenwald Baptist Church in 2001. Jerry taught Adult Sunday School Classes, Discipleship Classes, and Soul-Winning Classes prior to being named Associate Pastor of Pastoral Duties, and Senior Ministries where He served until forced to retire due to illness. He loved teaching Soul-Winning to others and Ministering to the seniors at Lindenwald Baptist Church. He was often heard to remark “that He had the greatest job in the world”. Pastor Brees is survived by his loving wife of over 52 years Judy (Dixon) Brees; three sons Gerald R. (Eva) Brees Jr, Michael (Connie) Brees, and David (Patty) Brees; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by three siblings, including his two brothers Gary (Mila) Brees and Jay Brees, and one sister Karen (John) Riechers. Visitation will be on Saturday February 2, 2019 at Lindenwald Baptist Church 460 Symmes Rd Fairfield, OH from 10:00 AM until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tyler Green officiating.
