Obituary for Robert T. (Bob) Hoelle
Robert T. Hoelle, age 77, a beloved family man and cherished friend, passed away May 12, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable stories. Born to the late Robert T. Hoelle, Sr. and Eileen A. (Kaeser) Hoelle in 1947, Bob was a vibrant soul known for his humor, storytelling prowess, and unwavering devotion to his family. He retired from GE after 45 years of service.
Bob was married to his loving wife Bonnie (Hoskins), for 53 years and they were blessed with three sons, Robert T. Hoelle, III, Fred Hannah, and Ryan Hannah. His family was the cornerstone of his life.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Patricia Hoelle Drury and his beloved grandson Jake Hannah. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, his sister JoAnn Wolff (Dennis), his brother-in-law Mark Drury, as well as his sons Bobby (Melissa), Ryan (Tammy), and Fred. Also surviving Bob are his Grandchildren Leslie Hoelle, Bret Hoelle, Tyler Hannah, Dustyn Batdorf, Dylan Batdorf, Todd Schultheiss, and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Special recognition is given to Melissa, who was his devoted and loving round the clock caregiver.
Bob was a proud Vietnam Veteran (Army) and a recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge and other awards. He was a Sergeant and Chief Warrant Officer in the Army and a Warrant Officer in the National Guard.
A true car enthusiast his entire life, Bob was especially fond of Corvettes. His passion for automobiles was matched by his love of sports. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan. As a child, he played baseball for the Darrtown Dodgers sponsored by Walter ‘Smokey’ Alston. Later on, he coached minor league ball for his sons and was actively involved in sports including dirt track car racing with his good friend Mark Mayer. gathering. He had an extraordinary ability to make people laugh with his tales and jokes creating countless memories for those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His circle of friends was vast, a testament to his warm personality and genuine nature. He also had a deep love of animals. In addition to is German Shephard Rocky, he most recently had a rooster who ‘adopted’ him.
Bob’s legacy is one of joy, passion, and a deep love for life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on through the stories he told, the laughter he inspired, and the love he shared.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 at the Webster Funeral Home in Fairfield, Ohio, on Friday, May 17, followed immediately by internment at the Millville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Bob’s name to a favorite animal shelter. Locally, he favored the shelter on Ross Hanover Road.
