Obituary for Ronald Homer Smith

Ronald H. Smith of Batavia, OH passed into God’s presence on February 9, 2020 at the age of 73 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Fannie (Trout) Smith, eleven brothers and sisters, several nieces and nephews, his youngest son Bradley James and grandson Ronald Dakota. Leaving behind to cherish him and all the wonderful memories are his loving wife Linda Kaye (Burgin) Smith. Ronnie and Linda were just eighteen days shy of celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary. Their remaining children, Gregory (Kathy) Smith, Rhonda Kaye (Greg) Gordon, and Heather Michelle (Joseph) Bell and daughter in law Jennifer (Boltz) Smith; 16 grandchildren Aaron (Kayla) Smith, Samantha Boltz, & Jen Boltz, Jordan Smith, Tyler Cain Smith, Emily (Joel) Beach, Hannah (Michael) Wilson, Levi Sellers, Ashton & Avery Switzer, Bethany (Anthony) Puliafico, Zachary Bell, Adam Bell, Keith Bell, Isaac Bell, Chloe Bell and Devon (Darrick) Newman; 15 great grandchildren and one on the way. Ronnie retired from General Motors (Delphi Division) after many years as a motor tool and die maker. He loved playing, coaching and managing men’s softball for many years, fishing, bowling and all sports. His biggest pride and joy were his family and all they have shared together. Ronnie was loved and respected by so many friends, family and just about all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation 5-8 PM on Thursday February 13, 2020 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 2249 Old St. 32, Batavia. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday February 14, 2020 at the church with Pastor Tom Bevers and Pastor Thomas Graves officiating. Burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Peebles, OH. THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt 4, Fairfield is serving the family.

Aunt Linda, I’m so sorry for you and the families loss. Ronnie was always a pleasure to be around. Just know that I’m here for you when ever you need to talk to someone. Love you very much and your in my thoughts and prayers always.
