In Loving Memory of Thomas Raymond Fening

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Raymond Fening, a man of deep faith, unwavering commitment to family, and an enduring spirit of community service. Born on August 16, 1947, Tom departed from this world on August 18, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished forever. Tom was a proud graduate of Fenwick High School and Xavier University, where he laid the foundation for a life marked by intellectual curiosity and professional excellence. His distinguished career saw him rise through the ranks to become an executive for several esteemed companies. Despite the demands of his work and the many airports he frequented, Tom’s heart was always at home, and his happiest moments were spent within its comforting walls. A man of profound faith, Tom found immense joy and fulfillment as a parishioner and dedicated volunteer at St. Julie Billiart Parish in Hamilton. His contributions to the parish community were marked by an unyielding spirit of service and a desire to make a positive impact on those around him. In retirement, Tom embraced the joy of a slower pace with his beloved wife, June, by his side. Together, they relished the simple pleasures of life and found happiness in each other's company. His involvement in the Fairfield Rotary and his Homeowners Association Board was a testament to his ongoing dedication to service and community engagement. Tom had a particular fondness for Cadillacs, delighting in both driving and purchasing them. His catchphrase, "here's the deal," still echoes in the hearts of those who knew him. With June, he traveled far and wide, cherishing moments with family and forging unforgettable memories with their many friends. The captain of his own ship, Tom spent decades at Lake Cumberland, where he found solace and joy in boating, waterskiing, and spending precious time with loved ones. His leadership on the water was matched only by his pride on land, where being a father and grandfather brought him immense joy. He watched with pride as his children and grandchildren grew up, each accomplishment a bright star in the tapestry of his life. Tom leaves behind his devoted wife, June, his loving “six” children, Brian and Sherri Fening, Beth and Chris Madison, and Julie and Jeremy Seck; seven grandchildren Jack, Tom, and Jamie Madison, Claire and Bradley Fening, Charlie and Brady Seck and beloved dog/companion Allie. Tom is also survived by his sisters Kathy (Ken) and Patty and his brother Dan (the late Mary). He always loved family gatherings with his family. Though his physical presence will be dearly missed, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew him. A mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday September 7, 2024 at St. Julie Billiart Parish, 224 Dayton Street in Hamilton where we will celebrate Tom’s life and the indelible mark he left on this world. Burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Montgomery. THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, Fairfield is serving the family.
