Virginia I. Jones

Virginia Irene Hunt Jones passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018 following a long illness. She was 92 years old. She is survived by her daughters, Lois Faye Jones Allen and Lynn Ann Jones Good and her grandchildren Sarah Marie Allen Robson (Matt), Rachel Elizabeth Allen Bakhit (David), James David Allen (Brittany), John Robert Good and Michael James Good. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law, John Masters and LaMar Doutaz. Her husband James Howard Jones preceded her in death. The following brothers and sisters also preceded her in death — Christine Hunt Nicely, Lee Hunt, Edward Hunt, Elizabeth Hunt Doutaz, Hubert Hunt, Dorothy Hunt Masters, Betty Hunt Payne, and Sarah Faye Hunt Hamm. Virginia was born in Rock Castle County Kentucky on January 28, 1926 and graduated from Sue Bennett College. She married James Howard Jones on July 5, 1947 and lived for the last 55 years in Fairfield, Ohio where she worked as a school librarian. She was also an accomplished homemaker, baking for her grandchildren and creating beautiful quilts, all sewn by hand. She will be deeply missed. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Valley Chapel Community Church, 6369 Dixie Highway, Fairfield. Guests will be received at 12:30 for visitation and funeral services will begin at 1:30. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts in Virginia’s memory to Valley Chapel Church.
