Wilma J. Ware

March 24, 1926 — February 16, 2018

The final chapter of Wilma J. Ware’s wonderful life journey, age 91 of Hamilton, came to an end on Friday February 16, 2018. The daughter of Palace and Mildred (Bennett) Wilson, she was born March 24, 1926 in Hamilton, Ohio, one of six children. Wilma was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She met the love of her life, William R. Ware at a local roller skating rink. They were married on June 12, 1944 and for 69 precious years they were never apart from each other. Wilma and her husband were blessed to have two amazing children, Pat and Sharon. Wilma retired from Kroger after 20 years of dedicated service to the company. In retirement, she enjoyed vacationing in Florida and Las Vegas, going to the casino, never missed and episode of Wheel of Fortune, and spending time with her family. She was member of the Hillbilly Clan #91 of Dayton, Hamilton High Twelve Club #414, Auxiliary #1069 VFW, and the Eastern Star Washington Chapter #195. In the twilight of her life she lost her beloved son, Pat Ware (7/27/2011) and devoted husband William (10/21/2013), and even through those rough times she remained strong and independent. She was blessed to live long enough to see both of her great grandchildren graduate high school; with her great grandson Corey, graduating from NKU and running for U.S. Congress in 2016, and had the pleasure of voting for her great grandson. Wilma will be remembered by loved ones for being a sharp dresser and her strength, once overcoming a broken hip and breast cancer at the same time. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Foister and son in law Gene of Fairfield; grandson Jay Foister and his wife Tina of Fairfield; granddaughter Angela Robinson and family of Hamilton; great grandchildren Caitlin and Corey Foister, who affectionately called her by her nickname, Meme. She was preceded in death by her husband William; her son Pat Ware; her parents; and all five of her siblings. There will be a celebration of her life at a later date. THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield is serving the family. www.websterfuneralhomes.com
